About Me

a little bit about who I am

My name is Mia Schneider. I am currently a junior studying Marketing with a minor in Global Business. I am originally from Manalapan, New Jersey, and came to the U of A to escape the freezing weather.

Through my summer internship with Total Entertainment and my job at ME SPA, I have learned that I have a deep interest and passion for event and experiential marketing. Both of my jobs and my involvement in over five clubs at Eller have taught me how to be hardworking, adaptable, creative, dependable, and excel at time management.

I already bring strong traits as a dependable team member, and I am looking to add even more. In the future, I want to bring my event experience to the marketing agency world and build my career in New York City!

Why Marketing: the Mia Signature

Mia on the beach

Creating and designing has always been my thing. From the time I could remember, I was constantly making T-shirt designs, building out PowerPoints, and finding any excuse to bring ideas to life visually. In high school, I became known as the go-to design girl, always the one people turned to when they wanted something to look elevated, polished, and creative.

As I’ve grown, that passion has evolved into a strong interest in graphic design and visual storytelling. I love working with tools like Canva and the Adobe Suite, where I can bring concepts to life and experiment with different styles. In my free time, I continue to create, whether it’s designing graphics, building mood boards, or curating content that reflects my aesthetic.

Everything I make carries a distinct feel, what I like to call “The Mia Signature!”

Why Arizona

Both of my parents attended and met at the University of Arizona, so becoming a Wildcat meant following in their footsteps while creating my own story. Moving across the country from New Jersey challenged me to become more independent, adaptable, and confident. Arizona has become a place where I’ve grown personally and discovered what I want for my future.

This One Time…

the real moments behind my professional persona

My communication style

LoveShackFancy x Stanley

We were unloading the carpet from the truck at The Grove, with one hour until open, when the client said the color looked too pink. I called the warehouse to see if we could get a different color and how fast, and I assured the client that if they were unhappy, we were going to fix it. In the end, they loved the original carpet, and it all worked out.

What this showsI reassured the client, which is my Amiable, people-first side, and went straight to finding a solution, which is the Analytical and Driver, results-first side of my Radian results. Staying calm and acting fast is what I want to bring to agency work.

Core value: Drive

Total Entertainment Pitch

A client asked for a last-minute pitch, and our team had six hours to put together a slideshow. My part was finding the photos to represent each activation we planned to do. We all worked together to get it done, and we got the client.

What this showsDrive means doing my part well when the clock is running, because a team only wins when everyone delivers.

Core value: Creativity

Me Spa Fall Campaign

Before designing my first fall campaign for Me Spa, I didn’t feel confident jumping into such a big project on my own. So I took the initiative to meet with the managers and really understand the essence of the brand, which helped me make sure my designs were on brand. That campaign reached 2,000+ email subscribers across 6+ spa locations.

What this showsCreativity starts with understanding the brand. Asking questions first is how I make work that feels right for the client.

the tools I reach for every day

✦✦

These are the tools I am fluent in and use every day to bring ideas to life.

I design campaigns and graphics in Canva and the Adobe Suite, build client-ready decks in PowerPoint, and turn data into clear insights with Excel and Tableau. I also create content for Instagram and TikTok. Together, these tools let me pair creativity with strategy in everything I make.

My Communication Style

what my communication assessments say about me

Self-Perception Inventory

Amiable

My Self-Perception Inventory results indicate an Amiable communication style. I value cooperation, supportive relationships, and making others feel comfortable. I aim to listen thoughtfully and help create a positive team environment.

how I see myself vs. how others see me

I see myself as Amiable, someone who cares about harmony and making people comfortable. The six people who reviewed me on Radian for my Professional Persona see something different: Analytical and Driver, focused on results and details. My BCOM 314 team agrees. They rated me 4 out of 4 for holding people accountable, and one BCOM 314 teammate said I drive the group to hit its deadlines. At an agency, that drive helps when a client event is an hour from opening, but clients and teams also need to feel heard.

Where I’m Headed…

what I learned and what comes next

What I learned from my BCOM 314 team

I love taking ownership, and my teammates in BCOM 314 noticed. They said I go above and beyond, and they rated me 4 out of 4 for holding our team accountable. They also gave me my next goal: delegating more and being more open to help. As a people person, I’m excited to make my teammates feel even more heard.

My goal

I want to bring my event experience to a marketing agency in New York City, known for getting results and for making people feel heard.

Next steps

  • Ask for my teammates’ input before I finalize slides.
  • Hand off at least one task on every project.
  • Ask my next team for feedback midway through, not just at the end.
